• Approximately 9,000 LED solar powered lights shone from the suspension bridge during the month of December. Pelican Rapids Schools was behind the lighting of the bridge with the hope that it could be the start of something special.  The vision is that this is just the beginning of a holiday light display that will spread throughout our community.
The lighting of the bridge evolved from a vision of giving, caring, and a love for the magical feeling of lights during this time of year. Volunteers with ladders, gloves, determination, and grit spent over 10 hours stringing the lights. In addition, numerous financial contributions enabled the magic to happen!
We value and appreciate the community that we live in and our hope is for everyone to enjoy the lights!

  • Sharing the light is one of many ways Pelican Rapids Schools has shown appreciation for our supportive community of parents, students, businesses, and community members. To us, Viking Pride means making a difference not only in our school, but also for those around us.

Service projects provide opportunities for students to learn time management, communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. Practicing these leadership skills helps our students to be successful today, tomorrow, and in the future.
