The ‘A’ division consists of smaller enrollment schools, both elite private and rural public schools. Considering the latter, Pelican Rapids was the 2nd best non-private school to compete (of six schools), only being beaten by Waseca. “Pelican Rapids once again does more with less,” notes Math Team coach Logan Knorr. “Considering that most of these other schools have much higher enrollment or are private schools, it is an incredible feat how our students continue to balance all kinds of activities and represent Pelican Rapids in a positive way.”
Leading the way for the Vikings in the test were senior Azra Gunes (9 points) and junior Oliver Snavely (8 points). Also scoring for the Vikings was junior Allie Thompson (3) sophomores Hayden Haugrud (5), Nicholas Rockstead (5), Emma Hanson (4), Julianna Borgen (3), and freshman Graham Pesch (4). An alternate competitor who participated was senior Jaxon Dalman.
