    Fixed VS. Growth Mindset:

Encouraging children to have a growth mindset is very important. Children with fixed mindsets tend to avoid challenges and give up easily, whereas children with growth mindsets tend to embrace challenges and give their best efforts.

What can you do to help? Talk about it! Talk to your child about his/her day. Try guiding the discussion with questions like: Did you make a mistake today? What did you learn from it? OR What did you do today that was difficult?

What can you do to help? Model positivity in your actions and choice of words. Simply changing the way you phrase things can make a huge difference. Adding the word yet to the end of a can’t do statement encourages children to keep trying: I can’t do that…YET!
