The ALC is a “school within a school” and is located in a classroom in the Pelican Rapids High School building, rather than a separate location. This has some advantages:
--Students may take some courses in the ALC and others in the regular classroom.
--Students may take credit recovery classes during a study hall.
--Students who need to work or have child care issues may attend school at a time that works with their schedule.
--Special education students may take classes in the ALC as outlined in the IEP.
--Programming between the ALC, Special Education and ESL is possible
