Harold Holt graduated from Pelican Rapids in 1974. He then went to Fergus Falls Community College for two years graduating with a AA in 1976. From Fergus he went to the University of Minnesota-Morris graduating in 1979 with a BS in Social Studies, Coaching and Physical Education. In 1982 he earnd a Masters of Liberal Arts from Moorhead State. He has taught and coached in Belle Plaine, MN, Browns Valley, MN, Underwood, MN, Fergus Falls Community College. He has been in Pelican Rapids from 1982.
He has participated in several professional development opportunities. Among them are Teaching American History grant, Colonial Williamsburg workshop, National Endowment for the Humanities Industrial Revolution – Dearborn, MI, Bushnell Fellowship, Ashland, OH, NEH –Reconstruction the Untold Story –Beaufort, SC, NEH - Plessey v. Ferrguson to Brown v. Board of Ed - Purdue, and James Madison Fellowship - U or WI Madison
