    Bike Repair Station

The “Bike Guys” are back in business with their “pop-up” bike repair and bicycle give-away program in Pelican Rapids. For about five years, Van Holmgren and Jeff McCracken have spearheaded a non-profit bicycle repair operation in June, with the charitable goal that everybody who wants a bike ought to have one. Bikes are donated, repaired, and then given to deserving recipients. Or, folks and families can bring in their bikes for routine repairs while the guys are on duty: Each Monday in June, from 9 a.m. to noon.

This year, the bike guys are set up at the new Trail Head-Chauncey Martin Building by the football and baseball fields for the month of June.  For those bicycle owners who need minor repairs, the volunteer mechanics can replace inner tubes and make brake and gear shift adjustments—but not typically more serious repairs or overhauls. For information, call Van Holmgren at 218-849-5561.
