Join us for a fun-filled day of learning & enrichment activities!

Fees:  Programming is free for K-8 participating from 8:00am-3:00pm

Club Vikes school-age care is available for $2.50/hour (during extended hours)

Starting Monday, Sept 10th


A Typical Magnificent Monday Schedule:

6:30-8:00am Club Vikes extended care

 

8:00-8:30am Gym

 

8:30-9:00am Morning meeting and Breakfast

 

9:00-11:30pm Learning Activities & Targeted Services

 

11:30 Lunch

 

12:00-3:00pm Enrichment Activities

 

includes hands-on learning opportunities such as arts & crafts/hobbies, board & computer games, guest speakers/field trips, bookclubs, and physical education

 

2:00pm Afternoon Snack

 

3:00-6:00pm Club Vikes extended care

 


The physical activity block includes indoor and outdoor games, sports, playtime.

 

The learning block includes individualized instruction in reading, math, caracter/social skills, homework help, computer lab, targeted services.

 


 

Targeted Services is offered on Mondays from 9:00am - 11:30pm.  Targeted Services is a free program.  If you are interested in registering your child for Monday Targeted Services please contact Janell Schmidt at Viking Elementary at 218-863-5910 x5237.


Magnificent Mondays Q & A

 

Q: How will the District save money if they provide programs on the Monday when there is no regular school in session?

A: The 21st Century Grant is funding all of the programs the School District is not financially contributing to any of the programs offered by the 21st Century Grant.

 

 

Q: Will there be transportation to the Monday programs?

Q: If I choose to send my child to the optional programs on Monday do they need to attend the entire day?

A: The program is designed for the students to participate in all activities; academic support and enrichment, social activities, interest enrichment and physical fitness activities. 

 

 

Q: What if I cannot afford the school age care fee?

A: No student will be turned away from any of the 21st Century Grant program offerings for an inability to pay, for additional information please contact Program Coordinator, Candace Roesch at  218-863-5910 ext 5022.

  

 

Q: Will my child get behind in school if they do not attend a Monday program?  

A: No. However, our program will work with students who are academically behind to improve their skills and offer enrichment activities to those that are interested.
